Whale's first-ever Hackathon competition was held on March 24th, 2023, at the Idea Lab located within the company's Hangzhou office, marking a significant milestone for the company's technological innovation and talent development. This competition provided a platform for Whale's employees to showcase their skills, collaborate on cutting-edge technologies, and generate solutions that address real-world problems. The two-day Hackathon was kicked off by Whale's CEO, Jerry, and CTO, Xie Shukun, who delivered inspirational speeches to motivate Whalers to maximize their potential, demonstrate their creativity, and apply their innovative thinking to make greater contributions and generate higher value in the marketplace.

The Whale Hackathon was an extraordinary event that activated the vitality of technology in a diverse and colorful way, breaking free from the stereotypical image of programmers as silent and monotonous keyboard tappers. The Hackathon was not just a competition but also a platform for demonstrating teamwork, individual technical skills, and innovation. Participants dedicated themselves to entering broader markets through innovative technologies and products.

During the competition, the participants demonstrated their skills and presented numerous creative ideas and solutions. The Initial W team developed a camera recognition function that automatically brakes the vehicle 20cm away from obstacles to reduce accidents and ensure driver safety. The Whale Robot team used a mechanical arm as a carrier with the core technology of recognizing objects and colors to precisely obtain user requirements and extract corresponding products. The One Sheep Migration team won the programming competition at the Hackathon with "Whale Knows It All," a conversational AI document tool that helps companies build private knowledge assistants, organize organizational structures, and communicate product parameters.

The competition featured many exciting themes and challenges, including, but not limited to, deep learning and the Internet of Things, providing participants with the opportunity to unleash their imagination and technical skills to the fullest, challenge themselves in AI, IoT, Data, and User Experience, and continue innovating. In the future, these innovative technologies and ideas will be applied to Whale's products and solutions to better serve its customers.

After spending considerable time on complex problem-solving, Whale's elite soldiers also require ample time for relaxation and rejuvenation. The Whale Hackathon emphasized a free and innovative atmosphere, where learning and progress went hand in hand with entertainment. From the preparation stage, the organizers planned a variety of fun competition rules to reduce the students' pressure during the intense competition. By making full use of the surrounding environment, game processes, and a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere, the pressure on each participant was reduced.

At Whale, we are proud to recognize the unique and diverse backgrounds of our employees, clients, and partners.
