Gartner's Twelve Technology Trends for 2022 - Which ones did Whale get right?

2022-01-19 17:30:00

Global enterprises are facing a world of heightened uncertainty due to the impact of the new epidemic and turbulent times. But Gartner (NYSE: IT), the world's most authoritative IT research and advisory firm, believes that business leaders can accelerate their digital businesses by gaining insight into future technology trends that will enable them to secure their foundation and even grow against the wind.

Recently, Gartner announced 12 key strategic technology trends for 2022, including data weaving, cybersecurity grids, privacy-enhanced computing, cloud-native platforms and more, which can be summarized in a three-step path of digital infrastructure (engineering trust), business solutions (shaping change) and real performance growth (accelerating growth). This technology trend is the accelerator of digital business and innovation power for enterprises in the next three to five years, which can help company CEOs respond to external changes and accelerate business growth.

As a full-domain digital marketing solutions provider, Whale leverages technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), large-scale Internet of Things (IoT) and data models (Data) to create a matrix of products: Space Intelligence, Whale Marketing Cloud, Whale Open Platform, and Consent Management, which are in line with these technology trends. With this, Whale is able to provide leading digital solutions and become a loyal partner for future retail brands and enterprises.

01

"Decision Intelligence": Whale Marketing Cloud

One of the key technology trends identified by Gartner is "decision intelligence". In an ever-changing world, if we can learn to use data to assist the human brain to make decisions, the decisions will be more intelligent, i.e. more timely, comprehensive and accurate.

Whale Marketing Cloud has a huge amount of data that is connected to each other. Its Customer Data Platform, by creating a unique ID, integrates all data from different channels of merchants online and offline in real time, realizing "full chain, full dimension, full real time" of data.

Whale Marketing Cloud's Marketing Automation Platform will automatically manage and analyze this data to form a unified user portrait system, understand consumer behavior, and better help merchants make decisions.

This includes customizing marketing services to create large-scale, cross-channel marketing campaigns for marketers; opening up touchpoints across marketing channels to improve merchant customer acquisition management and operational efficiency; optimizing the marketing rules engine to provide consumers with personalized and intelligent recommendations; and improving consumer experience to promote purchase behavior.

This can also indirectly influence merchants' advertising decisions. Through consumer data insights, Whale Marketing Cloud can identify the optimal delivery channels, ad positions, and ad content for brands, making ad delivery easier and more efficient, and maximizing ad revenue.

02

"Super Automation": Space Intelligence

The seventh technology trend mentioned by Gartner is "super-automation". This means replacing humans as much as possible with machines or other technology tools to perform business, and different "automation" scenarios will also operate in a coordinated and collaborative manner.

Whale has achieved super-automation through Space Intelligence, which frees offline scenarios from reliance on humans as much as possible, focusing on digital stores.

Through "Cloud Store Patrol", Whale automates the process of spot-checking product placement, store display, and store staff management, saving manpower and improving store operation efficiency. The traditional manual store patrol not only generates high costs in terms of labor and time, but also tends to cause problems such as inadequate management and untimely feedback.

Whether there is excessive oil on the floor, whether items are placed in compliance, whether employees are off duty, whether there are safety hazards at work stations, etc., are all the contents that "Cloud Store Patrol" automatically spot checks. It not only captures potential problems that are difficult to find manually, but also automatically forms work orders for the problems, making the problem handling process flow, standardized and transparent.

Whale has cooperated with Aiyihang on digital stores. Through the smart cameras deployed by Whale, Aiyihang's store managers can control the store situation at any time on the digital back office "alivia mobile", and there are many other similar cases.

03

"Cloud Native Platform": Whale Open Platform

The fourth technology trend mentioned by Gartner is "cloud-native platform". It refers to actually computing and utilizing the data in the cloud to get the value out of it. Instead of just taking on the heavy cloud maintenance work and never doing real cloud computing.

Whale Open Platform can be understood as a service that helps IoT devices in commercialization scenarios to develop and debug, data analysis, remote control, etc. The devices are not just "connected" anymore, but will also function directly in the business.

A store camera, in addition to capturing and storing images, gestures, license plates and other information, can also help merchants analyze customer flow, vehicle management and other issues in real time; an electronic price tag, in addition to marking information, can also help merchants make template adjustments, price switching, etc.; a bar screen, in addition to displaying information, can also help merchants make page configuration, content operation, etc.

At present, the IoT devices enabled by Whale open platform include smart ice and warming cabinets, temperature and humidity sensors, smart POS machines, end shelves and so on. The number of online devices exceeds 500,000 per day, and will process millions of device data from nearly 400 cities across China.

It can be said that Whale Open Platform has built a real "cloud-native platform". Here, "cloud computing" is not a slogan, but a solidly embedded enterprise action.

04

"Privacy-Enhanced Computing": Whale Compliance Platform

With the enactment of domestic and international data security regulations, protecting user data privacy has become an industry consensus, and the third trend proposed by Gartner is "Privacy Enhanced Computing" (PEC), which hopes that enterprises should collect and use data without compromising privacy.

The Whale Compliance Platform also provides real-time updates on privacy policy consent through a data dashboard and pop-ups for content editing.

For further detailed tracking and analysis of consumers, Re-ID technology, which does not require in-depth face capture and protects user privacy, is one of the most effective ways to capture and analyze data, and Whale's first Re-ID product, Montage, is already in use.

By not having to analyze every frame of data, "Montage" is able to better protect personal privacy. For example, it can condense huge amounts of video into minutes or even seconds, allowing merchants to quickly find and target problems. It can also aggregate information about customers who enter the video at different time periods, so that it can analyze the frequency of users entering the store, the causal information of the time period of arrival, etc.

Whale stores all data on a local server, ensuring no privacy leaks for customers.

It's safe to say that Whale is on the right track with the technology trends that will really matter in the future. From using data to make decisions, to true cloud computing for devices, automation to free up manpower, to privacy protection, Whale is on this side of history. In the future, Whale will also help more and more companies digitally evolve, helping them transcend the present, accelerate growth, and move straight to a better future.
